Gorgonia
The earliest Gorgonia works-on-paper date from 1997. They are an ongoing body of work. A group of two dozen of these sheets, spanning the period 2000 to 2006, was exhibited at the Monash University Museum of Art in the (group) show Before the Body - Matter (2006/7) and then, more recently, seven of those works purchased by MUMA were included in Monash University Collection: A selection of recent acquisitions (2007/8). Other shows devoted to the Gorgonia works were Gorgonia (solo), Studio 12, Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces (2003), After the deluge, corrections (solo), Temple Studios (1999) and Capurro, Ellis, Hutchison and Parsons (group), First Floor Artists and Writers Space (2002).
These works are correction fluid on magazine pages, with erasure, and pins. Each is approximately 310 x 220 mm and, like the Compress works, they are presented very simply, pinned to the wall.
